The Spur went 15-2 to and with a 7 game winning streak to end their season. The Spur's only 2 losses in their last 17 games were at the State tournament, 1 of which was an 9-8 loss in 8 innings to the eventual state runners up. The streak included 2 tournament titles. The D2 league tournament, The Spur's first league tournament championship in the 18 year history of The Spur. As well as the Last Chance tournament, The Spur's 2nd last chance title, their last coming in 2012. 24 wins is second all time 1 behind 2014 which included 2 card draw wins. We were 23-5 against rec3/4 teams this year, outscoring them 387-193. 14 of those wins were by run rule. Also since 2012 The Spur has played 501 franchise games. We filled the trophy case with 3 trophies this year, the previously mentioned League Tournament and Last Chance titles, but also The Spur made an epic run at the Mcquade, taking 6th place out of 48 teams, our greatest accomplishment of the year. Some other highlights of the year included: Back in blue alternate jersey. And here's a break down of the jersey records:

Also the Blue Alternate Top was worn the most at 17 games and paired with the black alternate bottoms was worn the most at 12 games. Danbom still makin us look great. And hanging out in the middle of the trees at mcquades in Mandan on saturday. Gettin our trophy with DJ and Harper at the Mcquade trophy presentation at the Clem's. And the now semi annual hang out at Rodi's after the last chance. Personally for me it was a full circle moment when my son Tyler played with us at Mcquades. He practically grew up in our dugout like some of the sons on the team before him. Website wise, I did keep the homepage updated and more than usual. Look for something new and exciting finally this fall. There is some talk of spur co manager Rodi and 3rd string catcher Raab retiring. We hope not, but if it's true, it was a great ending to their careers. Guys...my least favorite part of the season, but it also means the next time I sign on, it's time for a new season. To 2026!

CHAMPIONS! For the first time in 13 years The Spur wins Last Chance. Our last title coming in 2012. Spur opened up pool play with 2 run ruled wins 19-1 and 16-6 against the Butte Boyz and Powerhouse both on South 2. Powerhouse knocked out The Spur last year in the semis. In the opening round of bracket play, The Spur played West Side Saloon out of Williston on 2. The Spur had played Westside at the Miller Lite tourney earlier this year. Down in the 4th 8-1, The Spur raced back for a 12-11 lead going into the top half of the 7th. But Westside tied it and took the lead in the 8th 14-12. But DJ drove in the 2 winning runs for a 15-14 walk off and it was off to field 1 to face off with Softball Legends from Sidney, MT in the Semis. The Legends took an early 3-0 lead but The Spur battled back to take a 6-5 lead in the 5th. Homers by Chase Henderson, wrist band guy Jaren Hugelen and TP, stretched the lead 11-6. The Softball Legends did get 2 runs, but it wasn't enough as The Spur was back in the finals for the first time since 2016, and hoping for our first title since 2012. We moved over to field 3 to play Powerhouse again. In the first The Spur got 2 runs and then poured it on in the second for 14 runs to take an early 16-2 lead. A lead only padded to 17-2 for the 5 inning victory! Huge thanks go to Scott Murphy and Jaren Hugelen for playing with us this weekend. Stellar D was played by everyone all day, Stand out plays I can remember were made by a diving Hunter, pirouetting Scott and a robbing a foul over the fence Danbom. And Rodi gets MVP for sprinting back to the dugout after getting courtesy ran for, but seriously also for those killer smash burgers at his place afterwords! EPIC Day all around.

For the first time ever The Spur wins a league ending tournament. The Spur beat Wasted Talent in the winners final 29-8 to head back to their 5th league tourney championship. 5th time was a charm! As The Spur knocked off long time opponent Busch light (FKA Army's) 16-6 for their first title. The Spur outscored their opponents 50-14 (5-0, 29-8 & 16-6) in the tournament.

Originally when we lost our 3rd game on Saturday, we technically were suppose to be done for the weekend. Well I went to the tournament director and just explained that I thought it kinda was a bummer that the teams that started 2-0 on Saturday and had to play their third/elmination game on saturday. So he was kewl as shizz and said if you don't mind you can take one of the teams that didn't show spot in the consolation brackets. So huge high five goes to him. Even though we went 1-1 on Sunday and didn't make the Cactus bracket championship, we got to play more softball and that's about all we really cared about so thanks to that guy.

Last night we played shortened 5 inning games to get the games done early to beat the weather. Weather rolled in around 11 PM, so actually we could've played full games, but whatever. The Spur moves on to the winners final at 6:15 next thursday on 1.

Saturday started off ruff with a 19-2 pounding. But The Spur/Danbomsoftbal.com team found their groove and finished off saturday with a 17-0 win. Sunday morning down by 3, Spur scored 8 runs to complete the comeback 13-8. 20-3 & 16-0 drubbings brought us to our first Mcquades trophy game in 9 years! Unfortunately we took a 10-9 extra innings loss, but it didn't matter since regaurdless of the outcome The Spur was going to the Clem Kelly trophy party for our 4th Mcquades trophy in franchise history! Great run fellas!
